Bob holds degrees in music performance from East Tennessee State University and The University of Southern Mississippi.  He has served churches in Richton, MS and Greeneville, TN prior to coming to Gardendale-Mt. Vernon.

"It's funny how God works.  Before 2003, I would have laughed at anyone who said I should lead church music.  It was the farthest thing from my mind as I aspired to a career as a university music professor and professional singer.  In 2003, though, God opened a door for me to be in music ministry on a part-time basis, and it was through that experience that he taught me that my talents are His and that it is not all about me.  It's about Him and His glory.  I want to use my gifts to give glory to the Giver of ALL good gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to do so in leading ministry here at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon."

In addition to his ministry here, Bob is also active in the convention-style southern gospel music community.  He is a singer, songwriter, and teacher.  He currently serves as Principal of the Leoma School of Gospel Music that meets each summer in Lawrenceburg, TN.

He is oiginally from Greeneville, Tennessee.  In May 2009, he married Jessica Dunn of Portland, TN.  The two of them live in Hayden with their daughter Abby.

Amy Sizemore serves as our Director of Children’s & Communications Ministries.  She began serving on the staff at GMV as the Receptionist almost 3 years ago.  Prior to beginning her new ministry, she has served as a volunteer in our Children’s Ministry.  When our previous Children’s Director left to become a missionary in Peru, she was serving as the Chairperson of the Children’s Ministry team.

“As I served, there was a stirring inside of me.  I knew that I had to take the next step.  At the same time, I also have a degree in Graphic Design. While I did do some things with my degree, I never felt I was using it to my fullest. Little did I know that God was preparing the way for me.”

Amy currently lives in Gardendale with her husband, Jamie, their daughter Mary-Grace (6) and son Bret (2).  They are excited to see what God has in store next for their family at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon.
